What is Christmas all about?

You probably know by now that Christmas is celebrated every year on December 25. In the United States and  some parts of the world, parents will play the role of Santa Claus and sneak into the living room late Christmas eve to put out the presents. On the next morning, children would eagerly unwrapped their gifts 'Santa' has left under a Christmas tree or hanging stockings by the chimney.

Traditional tales that have been told again and again that there are no gifts for children who have been naughty or if they've misbehaved. Santa is making a list and checking it twice, who's been naughty and nice once a year. So be good for goodness sake!

This behaviour control through psychological use of carrot and stick must be invented by someone in the olden days to keep the children in line. It worked well in the past, but can it still applicable in the present world?

Somehow you have a gut feeling, these days the children know that Santa doesn't exist. Kids today can go online to look up information using the search engine and they don't have to wait for days to get a response or answer from their parents.

I believe in the past, children believe what they are told but most of the children have lost their innocence too fast in this modern world. You can blame the technology itself, or Internet access has made the world a faster moving and causing  kids from growing up too fast.

My first Xmas tree.
The firefly flashed on and off like lights on my Christmas tree
I've always admired the effect of the flashing lights on the Christmas tree. This brings me memories of me as a kid is running around chasing fireflies and watching the lightning bugs fireflies exhibit synchronous flashing, it's a special sight to behold.

In the weeks before Christmas Day, many people decorate their homes and gardens with lights. Christmas just ain't Christmas without Christmas trees as a centrepiece of your home's decorations.

Most of the homes are decorated with a real or artificial Christmas tree, we often make it more attractive by adding extra items with running lights and some ornaments.

Which do you think is more environmentally friendly suit, buying an artificial Christmas tree or a cut Christmas tree? Just say no to live trees.  Save the planet and go green with an artificial Christmas tree for your holiday celebration.

If you still insist on having a live tree, grow your own tree instead of a cut Christmas tree.

How many times when you talk about Christmas, would it even cross your mind that we are celebrating the birth of Jesus but when most people caught on the shopping holiday frenzy, attending parties and entertaining guests...we feel Santa Claus stealing baby Jesus' limelight.

It's time to rekindle the true spirit of Christmas, we can take time to think of others less fortunate
by giving your time or money to help the less privileged.

Remembering the Nativity

My nativity set that were very nice details and the figures are detailed really good
Silent night, holy night, Son of God, love’s pure Light. Radiant beams from Thy holy face, with
the dawn of redeeming grace. Jesus, Lord at Thy birth, Jesus, Lord at Thy birth

The wise men brought three precious and valuable gifts to the Lord Jesus at His birth

Christmas is a time to remember that Jesus came to earth in human form to take on the sins of the world. The Messiah would offer salvation to all mankind and guide us back on the right path to God.

Every year in December we celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ.

This is the time of year when we reignited the Christmas spirit and celebrate the birth of a child who came into the world with only a stable's roof to shelter Him.

When Jesus was born, a brand new bright star appeared in sky.  The wise men saw the star knew about this prophecy because they read it in the scriptures that a new star would appear when a great king was born.

So the wise men set off  on a quest to followed  the bright star that lit up the desert night to Bethlehem, and finally found Baby Jesus in the manger.

The 3 wise men from the Middle Eastern origins, kneeling before the Christ child presented unto him gifts; gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Have you ever wondered what Jesus actually looks like? We have been led to believe Jesus is white, looks like handsome Italian, has blue eyes and blond locks of hair due to the creative imagination of  Italian artists.

Many years ago my friend being terrorised by evil presence and in the desperate times of need, Jesus came down from heaven with two angels and help her to fight against demonic.

She described Jesus looked like people in the Middle East , he had a tanned complexion. Contrary to appearance embedded in our mind. Believe it or not!

The story of Jesus Christ

For his first thirty years, Jesus lived a traditional Jewish life, working as a carpenter. During this time, all of Israel was under the Caesar's Roman rule, including Bethlehem where Jesus was born and Nazareth, where he had been brought up.

While in his early thirties, Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist and began a public ministry of teaching, healing and preaching.   He has attempted to maintain a low profile but futile due his fame shine like a superstar.

Jesus' reputation spread nation wide like wild-fire through the whole Galilean district. He has drawn him lots of unwanted attention of the Roman governors, rulers of Israel's provinces and the leaders of the Jewish people (the religious counsels). His reputation precedes him.

Jesus performed many different kinds of healing miracles to convince the skeptic
s and unbelievers throughout His ministry.

Some examples of Jesus' miracles includes:

THE FIRST MIRACULOUS CATCH OF FISH-  Jesus has guided Simon to catch an enormous shoal of fish,  prior Simon worked all night, and never caught a thing

WALKING ON WATER-  the boat was by now a long way from the shore at the mercy of the waves, for the wind was dead against them. In the small hours Jesus went out to them, walking on the water of the lake.

Through his healing, Jesus reinforces the importance of trust and faith in God. Jesus taught us to express and demonstrate our love for God in the preaching of the Gospel.

Jesus heals the paralysed man by forgiving him his sins, proving that he can indeed forgive sins.

Jesus miraculously feeds five thousand people- His amazing power somehow could multiplied the loaves and fishes so there was more than enough to eat.

When he heard the message that Lazarus had already been in the tomb for four days, Jesus said, “This sickness will not end in death. ... to tell them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep; but I am going there to wake him up.
Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind - As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him,
“Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his.

Judas' betrayal of Jesus, he "stabbed his faithful friend in the back" with a kiss on the cheek

This is the kiss of Judas, also known as the Betrayal of Christ, which occurs in the Garden of Gethsemane after the Last Supper. He was betrayed by a disciple named Judas Iscariot. He went to the chief priests and offered to betray Jesus for only 30 pieces of silver. Jesus predicted the betrayal while eating with His disciples during Passover.

Judas is now synonym for betrayal to this day. Jesus chose to entrust himself to  this man, he must be deeply hurt by the betrayal of a close and trusted friend.  It was unthinkable, why did Judas sell out Jesus? What were his motives?

Never in a million years do you feel you would have this situation, Lone Ranger betrays his Native American sidekick, Tonto.

This Scenario Does Not Compute!  I don't buy the betrayal story.  If Judas' only motive was greed, why didn't he ask for more?

Jesus' most controversial act was that he repeatedly claimed to be God, which was a direct violation of the Jewish law.
Consequently, the overzealous religious leaders asked the Roman government to execute Jesus. However, after several trials, the Romans found Jesus not guilty on crimes against the Roman law. The reason was the God of Jews was not a crime under Roman Law.Still the religious leaders were not about to give up , using the argument of political disfavor, persuaded Pilate, a Roman governor of the Southern province of Israel, to authorize an execution.

Jesus is arrested  in the Garden of Gethsemane, shortly after the Last Supper and brought to trail.

Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, Art thou then the Son of God?  Literal meaning , "Are you the Son of God?

To this he answered directly, and on this they condemned him. The charge was blasphemy in saying that he was the Son of God.

During the middle ages, capital punishment was accompanied by torture. How Sadistic And Cruel People Have Become?

The Roman centurions brutally scourged Jesus with with a flagrum. The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head and arrayed him in a purple robe. Then they knelt before him in mockery and taunted,  “Hail, King of the Jews!” and struck him with their hands.

Christ carrying the heavy wooden beam Cross on his way to his crucifixion battered, bruised, dehydrated, and exhausted, he couldn't carry any more.

The Roman soldiers,  realised that Jesus no longer had the strength left to carry his cross by himself,  Jesus falls with His cross in front of Simon. The soldier seized Simon of Cyrene to carry the cross the rest of the way.

Christ Carrying the Cross on his way to his crucifixion. It's hard to imagine after tortured,
yet where does He get the strength to take on the heavy cross by himself?

Did Jesus carry the entire cross (which would have been incredibly heavy) or did He only carry the cross-beam (horizontal part)? Logical explanation is that He carry the only the horizonal beam of the cross.

He took the most horrific death to redeem us, Jesus was affixed to the cross by piercing his hands with nails to a horizontal wooden beam (cross).

Christians believe Jesus was crucified on Good Friday

The Son of God go through terrible suffering of painful and terrible death, killing him in three hours.

Arnold use the phrase I'll be back said in Terminator but  then we should not forget about Jesus
who say this first. ....  I'll be back.........in 3 days.
Tougher than  Terminator.  Our Jesus Lives but Terminator rather self-destruct.

Three days after His death and burial, some women who went to His tomb found it empty. Jesus appeared to more than 500 people after he was resurrected! To many, this was enough evidence to make a conclusive judgement proof that Jesus' claims to be God.

Let us rejoice as we sing,  O come, let us adore Him, (3x),  Jesus, Lord, at Thy Birth! Christ, the Saviour is born!
