PUBLIC TOILETS: Squatting toilets more hygienic

Let talk dirty, No, no not the one you have in mind. What I meant was everyone need to answer the call of nature when one suddenly gets an "urge" and don't shy away from talking about loo.

Public toilet, Oops. ...... Was I wrong to use the word? It's not a polite word to use or  you preferably use another decent name like the gentleman's (or ladies') room, the men's (or women's) room, the restroom, the washroom, the bathroom or the facility.

Called it whatever you like to call it, a toilet is still a toilet. The main purpose is for you to do your business there, nothing more nothing less.

Just remember to wash your hands thoroughly after you have done your business – whatever it is.

It happened once before, a roti canai maker suddenly had an urge to use the bathroom.

As the story goes.. After passing stool, he does not wash his hands properly after using it.

So some of his "waste" got stuck on his rings and nails, without knowing he continues his work with the roti canai till someone realise the extra ingredients in their roti canai. Urgh!!! Ewww!!!Disgusting!

I think there should be a regulation somewhere which says those serving food or drink to the public may not wear jewelry on their arms and hands while preparing food.

Roti Canai: Malaysia version of pizza, Canai is a Malay word meaning among other "to flatten or thin dough using hand or other utensil". Thus roti canai in Malay literally means flat bread

A sample on how a roti canai maker shows off his stuff while he works his magic on the dough for a perfectly soft and fluffy bread.
I want to ask a bigger questionQuestion is which type of toilet is more hygienic, sitting or squatting toilet?

Sitting toilet is a rising trend originated  from Great Britain which was then one of the most powerful country in the world, the fad spread to the rest of Europe, and to North America, Australia and rest of the world.

The toilet sitting users feel comfortably when seated on them, thus creating more pressure for housing developer to switch from squat toilets to seat type. This norm is accepted as current trend in new homes, rapidly overtaking squat style toilet as the most preferred toilets in private homes and public utilities.

I don’t understand why the public toilets in the country and probably most part of the world still insist on having a seated toilet?

Don’t they know how unhygienic to use one? Even women shun seated toilet if they have a choice. What toilet designers, planners and providers should do is to allocate a few seated  toilet for elderly or physical  impaired persons while the rest stay with squat toilet.

It takes less time and water to clean a squat toilet, seating toilet required more water as it includes the seat cover as well.

I'm of the many people who supports what's practical rather than what's fashionable when comes to public utilities or they should have dual-use squat toilets as it is generally more practical.

You tried to become an environmental friendly person but when you’re using a sitting toilet, a lot of papers are wasted cleaning down the top of the toilet before using it.
Even after all precautions have been taken, usually some risk remains, it will not save you from bacterial infection unless you’re using an antibacterial wipes.

This method is not as environmentally friendly, but you don't have a choice?
Alternatively  you can try leaning forward and hovering over the toilet like crouching tiger

It's good to know that new  shopping mall has allocated both western-style and squat toilets but preferably if more of these squatting toilet options were available .

The dangers of using a seating toilet:

Cleanliness factor: That will be alright if it’s used in your own home because you make sure the toilet seating bowl is clean but when used as public amenities it’s a different kind of story to talk about. Many Asians consider squat-style Asian toilets to be more hygienic than Western and it's easy to explain why, drops of urine left in the bowl.

The safety factor:  It's been one of those “well-known facts” that most people will not seat on the porcelain toilet seat bowl. Usually you can see footprints on the seat of a sitting toilet regardless toilets for male or female.

This kind of method by squatting on a toilet seat bowl can be dangerous as your leg might slip into the toilet hole or an even dangerous consequence is the porcelain toilet seat bowl might break causing a deep cut on your leg, bottom or back. The toilet bowl is design generally for sitting, therefore will not support much weight. By squatting on a toilet bowl, it is possible stress build-up takes its toll resulted the bowl to crack.
When you shit in public toilets you sit, not squat on the toilet bowl .  You don't want to end up like this.
.

The health factor: It has been observed in Medical Science that Asian who has more squatting toilets has lower occurrences of colorectal disease due to ensure a more thorough emptying of bowel excrete by squatting.

Furthermore by squatting you’re exercising your joints and stomach muscles.

Is the squat toilet at least partly to blame for problems like hemorrhoids and constipation and more serious diseases like IBS, colon cancer and more.
Complete your daily bowel movement to eliminate the stagnation from fecal which pollutes the colon.

Statistical data has strongly supported by scientific evidence on the theory, using squat toilets are the basis for a healthier life. It has always used the squatting position for elimination since the beginning of mankind, so why change it?
Squatting relaxes the final pathway between the rectum and anus

New inventions are not always as good as old. Like they always said, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

If studies shows they can prevent colon cancer or IBS then maybe they are worth to adopt this toilet.

Which would you rather have? Good health or fashionable toilet?

Little did we know, how a natural way to go to the toilet can help to heal our bowel digestive by simple change of habit to the squat posture Human defecation postures.

Believe it or not!

Support and adopt Squat and  not Sit Toilet!

  2. We really can't resist especially if we have a call of nature. There's really a time that we have to get it through even in public comfort rooms What matter's most is that we have to wash thoroughly our hands after using the comfort room.
